DON'T MISS THE 5th ANNUAL CORN FESTIVAL & TRACTOR
SHOW THIS WEEKEND!
We are excited! – Come rain or shine, the tractors are heading our way and that’s not all! Bill Olin is bringing his hand-cranked corn sheller so you can experience what it was like in yesteryear to shell corn the old-fashioned way.
Join us for old-fashioned hayrides throughout the day. Tractor entries are pouring in, and we can’t wait to see all of the tractors on display. There is still time to register your tractor, just give Ken a call 655-1660.
Live music by The Stoutmen and the Binghamton Steel Drum Band will be performed all afternoon for your listening pleasure, so grab some food and one of the many tables, chairs, tents and pavilions and set a spell.
Speaking of food, corn recipes will be served throughout the park, but that’s not all - food and snacks abound. Watch as fresh kettle corn is made and take a bag home. Enjoy a Corn Dog from Pepe’s food tent, or savor buttery, roasted corn-on-the-cob from the Windsor Partners
Games and crafts for the kids will keep families happy all day! Thanks to our sponsors - Northland Power/Bluestone Wind, the Town of Windsor, the Mikoda Group, Bill and Linda Titus, Dan Burdick, local churches and businesses - admission to the Corn Festival is free of charge! Most of the activities are free or at a nominal cost. We only ask that you consider donating non-perishable food products for those less fortunate in our community. Barrels will be set up at the two entrances and the food will all go to Windsor's Human Development.
BIG thanks to the West Windsor Baptist Church, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the Windsor Civic Club and the Windsor Partnership! We can't thank them enough for the games and activities they are all providing to make sure your youngsters have a great day. Many organizations are joining us to provide information about their services, and vendors are bringing all sorts of wares and crafts to offer for sale.
Wave good-bye to the tractors during the Tractor Parade 4:30.
For additional information call 655-3399 or email: elainelcard@gmail.com. See you real soon!

TRACTORS, TRACTORS and More TRACTORS

Let’s end our summer by enjoying a simpler life – the life that brings agriculture to the forefront.  Let’s not forget farming is still foremost in providing us with some of the most important basic needs – meat, poultry, eggs, milk and vegetables.  While many farms have gone by the wayside, we are privileged to live in a community that still has a fairly strong agricultural representation and a very real sense of community.  The Corn Festival and Tractor Show exemplifies our agricultural roots.  Our friends and neighbors unselfishly bring their tractors out to Klumpp Park to share a little history with all of us.  Come out on Saturday, August 26th between noon and 5:00 pm as they proudly display their tractors, large and small, old and new, restored or original, for all to enjoy.  The tractors will parade around Klumpp Park at 4:30 pm which is a new feature this year.

Be sure to visit the Miller Farms tent, pet the calf, join the corn husking contest and win prizes, or just sit and enjoy the company.

Thanks to Bill Kappler, tractor pulled hayrides around the park will be offered free of charge.

If you are willing and can get your tractors to the park that day, please let us know as we would love to have you.  There is no fee for registering your tractor and there is plenty of room for more.  To register, call Ken at 655-1660 or Elaine at 655-3399 or stop at Acclaim Insurance Agency at 121 Main St.

We Just wanted to take a moment to thank Bill and Linda Titus for their generous donation of fresh home grown corn to benefit Windsor Partners who will be selling delicious roasted corn at the event.  Also, thanks to Dan Burdick who will be delivering and loaning us his roaster for the event!  Don’t we have the very best neighbors in Windsor?

Press Release #1

GET READY FOR THE 5th ANNUAL WINDSOR CORN FESTIVAL & TRACTOR SHOW!

You won’t want to miss the 5th Annual Corn Festival and Tractor Show at Klumpp Park on August 26th from Noon till 5:00 pm brought to you by Windsor Partners and Friends.

Admission is free, but we would sure be appreciative if you would bring a canned or boxed item for Windsor’s Human Development.  Donation cans will be at the entrances.

Bring your tractor; old, new, restored or original and any old farm memorabilia you want to share.  Your friends and neighbors would love to learn more about your treasures.

There is no cost to display your pride and joy and we will even provide treats for tractor display owners.  Don’t miss the tractor-driven hayrides with Bill Kappler.

Don’t festival foods make your mouth water? The Variety, the smells, the things you can’t eat every day.  Prepare to eat CORN - roasted corn, corn chowder, walk-away tacos, popcorn, corndogs, and freshly made kettle corn, and so much more including fried and grilled foods, ice cream, sno cones, and many more snack foods.

Time to work off some of the calories with an exciting round of Corn Hole.  For a nominal fee of $10 per 2-person team, enjoy some friendly competition and win cash prizes.  First place guaranteed at $100.

If you don’t have a partner, sign up and we will pair you with another person.  No experience is necessary to play – it is a glorified bean bag toss, and anyone can learn to play in minutes.

Try your hand and get hooked on this up-and-coming phenomenon.  Special thanks to Jonny Stokes Woodwork who is supplying the Corn Hole sets and will have a vendor booth where you can order your own custom-made Corn Hole board complete with the bean bag sets.

We are so proud that this is a community family event, and we will have many children’s games and crafts to entertain the youngsters.  Sit and relax in our large tent while enjoying the live, non-stop music provided by The Stoutmen and the Binghamton High School Steel Drum Band.   Or sit a while visiting the Miller Farms tent with a calf to pet and join them for the Corn Husking Contest they sponsor.   Shop locally with our vendors who will be offering a variety of wares.  Meet and talk to many non-profits and local businesses who are happy to provide information on their products and services.

For additional information on any of the events, activities, to sign up as a vendor, tractor exhibitor, or  Corn Hole Tournament team, call Elaine at 655-3399 or email: elainelcard@gmail.com.  As with any event, volunteers are needed as well.  Special thanks to our event sponsors:  Northland Power DBA Bluestone Wind Farm.

Thanks to all who attended the Corn Fest & Tractor shows in the past!
